A relic from the North Eastern Railway?

Our local Postman calls in for a cuppa every morning. Today he showed me something that he had found knocking around in an old draw and kindly offered it me.

On the face of it, I would think it is a Guard’s Whistle from the North Eastern Railway era. If anyone has any thoughts on this, please leave a comment. 🙂

  1. It IS a NER guards whistle, I have a couple, my Grandad was a guard on the NER, he started work at Sinderby in 1901……

  2. No problem, your models are set in the era I am most interested in 1950>55, in the middle of the period my dad was on the railway. I love your weathering not too much rust, I think a lot of people take the extremes as a guide. I hope to meet up someday,,,,:0)
