Some of you may remember that I had intended to increase the loco shed to five roads and build a new engine shed via laser cut parts. I have been weighing up the issues with this and the cost which would still require construction and painting by yours truly. Therefore I have decided to bite the bullet and commission well known builder Peter Leyland to build the new loco shed from scratch.
Although not strictly the real 50A York North Shed (which is/was a roundhouse), my Loco Shed will be based on the Queen Street buildings next to York Station which mostly survive today. The design suites a 5 road shed and has the type of York Architecture that I feel will suite the layout.
Below is a photo of the surviving buildings, which will help give an idea of how the shed will look.
I will keep you all posted on developments.
