1938…the alternate operating year for Leaman Road.

After seeing all 6 A4s (In particular the 3 in Garter Blue) it made me realise that a second operating period for Leaman Road would be very interesting. I’ve decided that 1938 would be a good year with the final A4s were just being out shopped and York had an allocation of 4 Gresley A1s.

Here is a teaser of what is to appear, but what strikes me with 1938 is the mass of different locos allocated to York. K3s, C1s, C7s, A7s and even a Q7.

I’m not rushing into this and will build stock up gradually (a lot requiring kit building) and will take my time but should be an interesting alternative to 1950.

  1. Hi Tom, like the A1 below the cenotaph and the idea of 1938. I watched a youtube video with some footage of loco at York passing cenotaph. I see that your 01 is on the front cover of the next Model rail mag. Look forward to the read when I get it. Mark in OZ
